Healthy skin, healthy body, healthy mind…

Healthy skin, healthy body, healthy mind… I write about skin care or product ingredients all the time; but I’m just as passionate about the health of our bodies and minds.

Healthy skin:  I’m all about clean formulas that are plant based, paraben free, sulfate free, cruelty free, organic (where and when possible) that are kind to our skin.  I care about what my products do for your skin.  What goes into my formulas is as important as what doesn’t go into them.  When you contact me asking what you should use, I take everything you tell me about your skin into consideration.  There are what I call “absolute musts” that we should all be using; time proven basics – here they are (you can click on any of them to learn more):

  1. Vitamin C+ Serum in the morning.
  2. All-Trans Retinol 2.0% at night.
  3. I’m Covered Physical Sunscreen SPF32 – every day rain or shine.

If I was stranded on a desert island (oh, the thought of it!), and could take 3 skin care products with me, it would be them.

Healthy body:  We truly are what we eat.  I was diagnosed with EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) over six months ago and have been able to heal myself eating and drinking probiotics.  Enter Kombucha, a sweetened tea that’s fermented, as well as fermented vegetables.  They don’t call our gut our “core” for nothing!  If our digestive system isn’t working properly, our immune system is compromised.  You really can heal yourself through food, and fermenting it is most healthful way to go.  I’ll be writing in future blog posts my personal recipes, and I really hope you give them a try!

Healthy mind:  Stress free comes to mind first.  And a big good luck with that, right?  We’re in control of our thoughts.  Being mindful is something we all strive for, but is it possible to be mindful 100% of the time.  That’s a big no in my opinion.  But we can work on it!  Breathe…..  take a few minutes, sit back and concentrate on breathing in to a count of 4, hold it for a second, and breathe it back out, again at the count of 4….. Repeat for even two minutes and see what it does for you – INSTANT relaxation!

Healthy skin, healthy body, healthy mind….I want to start a series of articles that you find interesting about your health.  We’re all in the same boat wanting to take good care of ourselves, so we can take good care of our loved ones – people and pets.

Until next time….  stay well!  Nanci  “NCN”
