Vitamin C+ Serum with E, Ferulic Acid & Glutathione

Question: Hi Nanci, Well, I just got your new C Serum, and I can tell already that I am going to looooove it! I don’t know if I’m imagining it, but I feel like there is sort of an instant firming effect…? I love that it stimulates collagen types I, II & III! I was surprised that you formulated one because you’d always said you thought a topical C was not very effective. But of course, leave it to you to add all kinds of other goodies to make it work! Mary

Vitamin C - Great for you inside & out!

Answer: Hi Mary! You’re right – I used to only take Vitamin C internally because of what I had learned from Dr. Pickart about a topical Vitamin C product. He thought (as well as countless others) that Vitamin C as a topical was ineffective because it oxidizes quickly, rendering it ineffective. He was right – however, there are different forms of Vitamin C now that don’t oxidize so quickly, but they aren’t as effective as L-Ascorbic Acid, and can’t penetrate the skin as well. So because L-Ascorbic Acid is so hard to keep stable, I didn’t ever bother with it until I started researching it more about a year ago. In my research, I learned about the power of Glutathione, and voila! Glutathione is not only the ‘master antioxidant’; it also stabilizes L-Ascorbic Acid (and Vitamin E).
