Acne Spot Treatment is what was formerly called 15% Daily Exfoliator. Since I’m not a fan of applying an acid on your skin on a daily basis, I changed it in name only but also dropped the percent of white willow bark extract in it down to 10%. Acne Spot Treatment is for people of all ages that have acne. It’s non-drying and contains organic white willow bark extract, which is the all-natural form of salicylic acid. White willow bark extract is much less irritating and has much better anti-inflammatory properties than salicylic acid. It’s just better for you skin.
Dr. Pickart says that copper peptide works best on exfoliated skin. And he’s correct; in fact it’s the same with ANY product. Products penetrate better on skin that is exfoliated. However, that doesn’t mean that you have to exfoliate with an acid based product every day. Acids cause inflammation, which isn’t good for your skin. Acids also cause your skin to age faster and make it more prone to UV damage. It’s much safer, and you’ll age slower if you use a non-acid exfoliating product on your skin. The Microfiber Cleansing Cloth or the Pretika Sonic Dermabrasion Brush are perfect for exfoliating in my opinion because they don’t cause inflammation. No matter what form of exfoliation you use, it’s imperative to use an SPF every day.
If you INSIST on using an acid on your skin every day, Dr. Pickart’s Exfol Serum (normal/oily skin) or Exfol Cream (normal/dry skin) are a good choice because they only have 2% salicylic acid in them. However, I would not combine a topical acid exfoliator with the microfiber cleansing cloth or the Pretika. Please choose one or the other as you do not want to over exfoliate.
